This page contains all the miscellaneous rules, regulations, and disclaimers on it that I didn't want to put on the main page, because I think it bogs it down. You can find the Weyr Rules, Regulations on the number and types of characters you are allowed to have, and the Disclaimed, which is, simply put, saying that I am not making any money off this site, and that Pern belongs to Anne McCaffrey.
An Image of Vistar's View?
Looks pretty accurate to me! I see green, and rock and a road even...perhaps winding it's way to the dead end at the base of Vista Hold's plateau?
RULES!!!
Every good Weyr has them, and ours is no different. the reins aren't too tight, but if people get out of hand, I will become more strict.
1) Be mature - This is a group for mature players, I want to see good writing. USE the Spellcheck!
2) Posts with excessive violence, swearing, or sexual activity must have a warning in the Subject Line. I don't want to restrict membership according to age, so please, warn everyone when a character goes nuclear, or naughty.
3) Female dragonriders can only Impress Golds, Greens, and an occassional Blue. Males can Impress Bronzes, Browns, Blues, and the occassional Green. No exceptions at this time.
4) Flit limit to four. There will only be three Golds allowed in the Weyr at one time. If your character ABSOLUTELY needs more than four flits, you must write an exceptionally good history as to WHY they have them, and approval will be considered.
5) IF you have ranking characters, ie. Weyrleader, Weyrleader Seconds, CraftMasters, you MUST post with these characters. The position was given to you because I thought you could handle it. If you can't that's fine, but let me know so someone else can have a chance at the position.
6) Don't kill anyone else's characters unless you have PERMISSION to do so! Main character killing is not good, and we really don't wish to see it happen. If it has to, make sure you have permission, or it's your OWN character.
7) Don't use other player's characters. Not at ALL. Not even if it will make the Thread go more quickly. NO! You post the actions and speech for YOUR CHARACTERS ONLY. No exceptions. Of course, this doesn't apply to NPCs, unless someone else is using them, or has adopted them.
8) Major plots that will involve the Weyr, in part or in whole must be approved before being posted. If your little thieving Candidate wants to steal the Queen Egg, that effects people, so get it approved first!
9) Problems with players, Moderators or character developments are meant for off list discussions. If you have problems, talk to the Moderators. We're here to help, and we'r pretty good at it.
10) Breaking the rules repeatedly is cause for punishment. This can be anything from moderated posts to banning offlist, to character arrest and compoundment in character.
Okay, so far so good. Don't expect this to be all the Rules, because it isn't. These are justa few I could come up with for you to see and understand. if you DON'T understand, links to my email are set up periodically throughout the pages for your convenience.
One of those convenient, periodical mail links
Character and Player Restrictions!!!
This is mainly to say that you can't have all the ranking characters in the game. There are limitations on all the character types.
Right now, with the Weyr just started, there aren't restrictions of dragonriders at the moment. As more people join and get characters approved, there will become some sort of limitation on the number of each color, but it won't be exact, and it won't be a priority enforcement, meaning you might get away with one or two extra bronze or blue dragons.
There will only be one (1) HAD in the Weyr. People who can Hear All Dragons are very rare, and special, and I only want one in the Weyr. If we get more than one sheet for HADs, which is possible, I will choose based on character History, so write good ones.
Master Craftsmen are important in the Weyr and Holds. They are teachers and overseerers of important work and have a close working relationship with the Weyrleaders. As such, if you want a Master Craftsman, you had better be able to post with some semblance of frequency. Master ANYTHING characters will be NPCed in the event that a player disappears, or has to leave for some reason. If you DO have to leave for awhile, and you will be back for that character, let me know and it won't go up for adoption. Otherwise, disappear, and expect to have any master character you had gone.
With ALL ranking characters that will be the rule. If you're going to disappear and you know about it, let me know, or one of the other moderators, once they've been assigned. If you just suddenly disappear, you have three weeks to get to a computer to email ME and let me know what's going on. At the end of the Three Weeks, you will be sent an email asking if you wish to continue at the Weyr. If you do NOT reply even if you just sent an email to me three SECONDS ago, the characters are NPCed. This is so that some of the load can be off my shoulders - that's what I have Moderators for :)
Goldriders are resticted heavily. There will only be TWO in the Weyr with full rider status and one Weyrling Queen. That means that the position will most likely be snatched up pretty quickly. For the Time being, if you want a Gold rider, make a female, heterosexual character, and play HARD! The more active you are in the Weyr, the more disposed I will be to letting you have a ranking character.
So it is written, so it is done. Don't break the rules, or these restrictions. It makes me mad, it makes other players mad, and it might have bad effects on your game play later on, if you aren't kicked out. Play smart and follow the rules, they aren't here just so you have reading material. No fillers, I expect you to follow them! |
