Set in an Alternate 10th Pass Timeline, where Aivas was never discovered to help the Inhabitants of the Thread-burned world of Pern, Vistar Weyr was the solution to a raging problem in the North...overcrowding. Vistar was created on the Southern Continent on a mountain, where the sun rises first. The pleasant atmosphere hides the troubles of the newly established weyr well, but for the people of Vistar, it's quite difficult to deal with Firehead, heat exhaustion, and no Weyrleader when they are so small...

Vistar is set at the base of a mountain peak, that leaned almost precariously over the small Weyr. Most of the activity of the Weyr takes place on the ground, at the base of the mountain, where the Kitchens are located, and the Hunting grounds, Firestone Store, and the only supply of freshwater, from mountian run-off.
The Weyrs for the older riders, and the Watchtower, were chiseled into the wall of the mountain at great cost to the men and women who toiled to bring Vistar to live. Many corridors and tunnels were etched into the mountain, to provide access from the Kitchens, and grounds, to the Weyrs and Watchtower higher off the ground.
Crafthalls of the Weyr include, Harper, Healer, Fishercraft, Woodcraft and Dolphincraft, thought most crafts can be found at the Weyr, wines, material for clothing, leather, beasts, smithing, and mining are all imported from the Northern, or neighboring Weyrs and holds.
Under the protection of Vistar Weyr, you have Vista Hold, Epress Dolphin Hold, and Shaligan Hold. Vista Hold is situated on the western face of the mountain, on a plateau elevated from the ground and able to be reached only by dragonback. The Epress Dolphin Hold is on the shore, not far from the Weyr, in a large, protected cove, where the Dolphineers have set up a Dolphin Bell and a pier for boating. The Dolphincraft hall and the resident Fishercraft work together to bring food to the Weyr. Shaligan Hold is a minor Hold with a minimum number of people in it, but serves as a place for the children sired of the Weyr, and most are fostered there between four and six Turns.

As of February 10, 2001, the Weyr is in need of ALL positions, except the Weyrwoman, and Dolphincraft Masters. EVERY other type of character is welcome. All ranking positions are open and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis, depending on the character sheets you submit through Yahoo! Groups.
